I've just got a Pi5 and flashed CompanionPi to it to use it with a Streamdeck. Problem is, I can't find the ip address of the Pi.

Any help is appreciated!
A new day.
A fresh read of your problem statement.
Another possible approach to the issue....
About the image of 'CompanionPi' you have installed. Is it known to be compatible with the fairly-recent RPi[5] board you are using?
Not all 3rd-party OS images can be assumed to be compatible with an RPi5 board. Perhaps the RPi5 is simply not booting from that image. If it doesn't boot it won't have a running OS, and the network interface won't have an IP address. This can be difficult to diagnose if you are working in a headless scenario.
As a comparative test for troubleshooting/diagnostic purposes do you get the same problem if you install and run a version of the recommended and supported RasPiOS Bookworm OS? https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/op ... -os-64-bit
Also to draw attention to what has already been said about address assignment. A simple ethernet switch has no knowledge of IP protocols and will not assign an IP address to connected devices. So if you have only a laptop, a switch, and an RPi maybe no address assignment is taking place.
Without which no IP communication will be possible. This current forum thread has similar issues - viewtopic.php?t=363918
Hi,
This is all quite possible. I'm coming at this with little knowledge of the subject. On the bitfocus website it says they officially support raspberry pi 4 and 5. If I connect it to the tv in my hotel room I can see it boot to a login page. Might this mean that it hasn't reached a state where an ip address is established?
I'm using a Netgear GS308E with DHCP enabled so I thought (perhaps wrongly) that an ip address would be given.
I still haven't been able to borrow a keyboard. I can't find any address using the switch and I can't find any address connecting directly to it. I've flashed a standard version of the OS, which boots to the desktop and I still can't find an address. If I hove the cursor over the network icon (two blue arrows) it says "Requesting an ethernet network address for 'wired connection'" but doesn't seem to establish anything.
