Hi.
I also got problem booting rpi5 4gb from pcie ssd.
I'm using kingston rbu-sns8154p3 256GB with Mcuzone MPS2280 M.2 NVMe HAT.
When I boot from sd card I can easily access and mount the ssd using /dev/nvme0n1pX. I can write to it or read from at about 700MB/s.
I tried two ways to flash the image to the ssd and both fails in different ways.
1. Using dd the write the image directly to /dev/nvme0n1. Then turn off the board, remove the sd card and turn it on. It boots fine to the setup wizard. I setup user, password,... and it get to the desktop without any issue. However, after I reboot, it never boots up again. Quickly after showing the raspberry logo with white background, it shows a black screen with one line thay says .and after about 40 secs, it shows another longer message that says you are in emergency mode blah blah blah, and it doesn't go anywhere after that.
2. Using sd copy I copied the whole sd card contents into the ssd. These works for a couple of time and then for no obvious reason, same thing happens to it. And it gets to a black screen with a blinking cursor forever.
How can debug this issue?
What's the difference between different adapters? Aren't they just a piece of pcb and fpc that adopts the rpi5's pcie connector to m2 connector maybe with a regulator?
