I've just upgraded from a RPi4 to an RPi5 with Bookworm and I'm having an issue with the monitor. Turning on Screen Blanking in raspi-config will turn off the monitor, but then every 15 seconds, it briefly turns the backlight on, before turning right back off, causing the monitor to display the "no input detected" message and then go back to sleep. It will repeat this indefinitely until I move the mouse or hit a key to wake the screen.
I have tried adding vc4.force_hotplug=1 to the end of /boot/firmware/cmdline.txt to no avail. I've also tried =2 and =3 just in case. I've rebooted between attempts. I've also tried switching to X, but it still happens.
To rule out the software, I've also upgraded my RPi4 to Bookworm. Curiously, the monitor has no issue with Bookworm on the RPi4 - I didn't need to use force_hotplug - leading me to believe it may have something to do with the RPi5 itself. Maybe it polls the hdmi port every 15 seconds?
Can anyone please suggest any other method to stop this annoying behavior?
