Troubleshooting • Re: Revert rpi-update on Pi 5

Code:

sudo rpi-update 6c2b033bf556c2a2ae109ec85d86485fa4c16050
Thx 1000 times. This fixed it. Back to kernel 6.1 and my NTFS formated HDDs work again.
I even tried this command before I wrote here. But it didnt install. only downlaoded. But that was an issue because connecting a NTFS HDD will break the Pi and its not working 100% anymore. So without connected NTFS Drives the rpi-update to 6.1 worked.

Hmm so then I think there is a bug in 6.6 kernel which makes the "mounting" of drives not working for NTFS formated drives. Mounting crashs in a endles loop (drives are listed but if i open them it says something like "a operation is already running") the disks gui tool also shows endless running loading circles. Also the Pi gets broken somehow if a nfts drive is connected (Pi still works somehow, not freezes but a lot of issues happens like reboot not working, rpi-update not installing etc)

I also tried "sudo apt install --reinstall raspi-firmware" before downgrading to 6.1 but it didnt help :S
There is a simpler way as I know now:

Code:

sudo rpi-update rpi-6.1.y
Obviously you are free to change rpi-6.1.y to rpi-6.6.y or even rpi-6.8.y if need be. That way you'll get the latest available build of the chosen branch
