Troubleshooting • Unable to see folders on my USB drive on the Plex media server on Raspberry Pi

HI
I've bought a new Raspberry Pi 5. Pi Os installed on SD card and all loads fine.
I've installed Plex on it and can access via a browser. I have media on a WD USB external drive plugged into the Pi5. It is FAT32. I can see the drive in File Explorer on the Pi5, can access folders and run videos using VLC.

However when I tried to add the external drive folders to Plex I can only see the name of the drive an not the folders on the drive. I'm a complete newbie to Linux. I have tried a couple of permission commands I've seen on posts without success.
I think it's likely its a perms issue. File explorer shows the disk as WD which seemed to be mounted to /media/user/WD
Wondered if anyone could recommend steps to make the folders under WD visible to plex?
