Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi zero as usb webcam fails

Hello Raspberry Pi Community,

I've been attempting to use my Raspberry Pi Zero as a USB webcam, following the official tutorial: https://www.raspberrypi.com/tutorials/p ... sb-webcam/. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me; the Zero isn't recognized by the host system.

Below is the dmesg output related to the dwc2 module on the Raspberry Pi Zero:

dmesg | grep dwc2

Code:

dwc2 166626 0roles 8251 1 dwc2

This is the dmesg output on the host:

Code:

[3144.162705] usb 1-3: device descriptor read/64, error -110[3202.350712] usb 1-3: device not accepting address 32, error -62[3202.478707] usb 1-3: new full-speed USB device number 33 using xhci_hcd[3213.110089] usb 1-3: device not accepting address 33, error -62[3213.110186] usb usb1-port3: unable to enumerate USB device
I've already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:

Testing with various USB cables and different ports to exclude defects.
Testing on different computers, including systems running Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu, and Windows 11.
Attaching the data port after a delay following power-up.

I'm reaching out for advice on any further troubleshooting steps I can take and wondering if anyone has faced similar issues or has insights into resolving these USB recognition errors.

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!
