I experienced an issue where my Raspberry Pi 5 would get stuck at the welcome page and automatically shut down. After troubleshooting, I discovered the problem was with my power adapter.

My Adapter Specifications:
Input: 100V-240V 50/60Hz 0.2A
Output: 5.0V == 1.2A
The Root Problem
Insufficient Current: The Raspberry Pi 5 requires much higher current output. My adapter only provided 1.2A (amps), which is far below what the Raspberry Pi 5 needs.

Official Power Requirements for Raspberry Pi 5
The officially recommended power specifications for Raspberry Pi 5 are:
Output Voltage: 5V
Output Current: At least 5A (amps)
Connector: USB-C
Power: At least 25W

My adapter only provided 1.2A (about 6W of power), which is less than 1/4 of the Raspberry Pi 5's requirements.

AI told me effects of insufficient current:
When a Raspberry Pi doesn't have enough current, the following symptoms appear:
Random restarts or shutdowns
System instability
Programs crashing or freezing
High-resource processes like the welcome page failing to run properly
Lightning bolt icon appearing in the top-right corner (power insufficiency warning)

Solution
1. Purchase an Official or Compatible Power Adapter
2. Any quality USB-C power adapter with these specifications:
Output: 5V/5A or higher
Supports USB PD (Power Delivery)
Power of at least 25W
