What? Do I hear anyone reading this saying bad things about the Raspberry PI? Do I personally cuss and swear when the above happens? Not at all. When such freeze-up occurs, it is often after a productive hour or so, sometimes many hours, and I just take the freeze-up as a sign from above to take a break and stretch my legs.
When I return, I hold down the reset button until the screen blanks and red led comes on then I hit the reset button again and the green led comes on, and maybe 20 seconds later I am sitting down again doing my work.
Let''s compare this with my wife's computer, a big glossy HP laptop with the very latest WIndows product. In this house, she is the one cussing Bill Gates almost daily about the long security loads, the updates she religiously observes, the strange things that Windows makes you do sometimes. And start-up time extends forever sometimes. Has it ever "frozen up"? No. Would I ever consider geting a Windows machine for my office? Never...
I wouldn't change a thing!

I have been working with computers for 48 years. (my TRS-80 Model I, was introduced by Radio Shack on August 3, 1977) and I am writing to say that I am very much in-tune with Olydnad_SWE's comment. I also use my RPi 5 as my primary desktop, with two large displays in front of me and a filled-up 7 slot USB extender. I do a lot of graphics and web work, and spreadsheets and emails, and Libre Office, etc etc. I backup my work constantly. Why? Because my RIi 5 "freeze randonly and verry (sic) often" as this thread is titled. I've added giant cooling, use the best memory cards and optimized swap, etc, etc. Nothing seems to stop my RPi 5 from the sudden and inevitable erratic mouse behavior leading and degrading to a final total freeze. But with that said, I'm often on an SBC and usually don't need more. What I like about the SBC is the lightness, and mine is always on. For me, the fun with computers has come back with SBCs. I've been working with computers for over 20 years and before SBCs it started to get boring. And it doesn't look any better today on more ordinary computers. My opinion then!
