Troubleshooting • Hostname not shared by network booting Pi's

I discovered that my network booting Raspberry Pi's are not sharing their hostnames to the DHCP server, even though I can SSH into them with their hostname, while if I boot from an SD card the hostname is shared. This affects both 4B's and 5's

Why is that and is there any way to get the network booting Pi's to share their hostname?
