I have a raspberry Pi 5 connected to a Back-UPS RS 1600MI - not a cheap UPS. It's got sine wave, etc.
I'm using the Raspberry Pi 27W USB-C Power Supply to power the Pi 5.
I had some power events this morning and the UPS's reacted, but the Pi rebooted badly...
If your UPS is working properly and the Raspberry Pi power supply is plugged into the correct UPS output, the Raspberry Pi 5 should not see any kind of interruption during power events.
I use a CyberPower UPS with NUT running on two Raspberry Pi 5's. We have frequent power interruptions here and the Raspberry Pi 5's NEVER reboot nor have any knowledge of the power events.
