Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2 GB) Ethernet Port Issue – LEDs Not Lighting Up

Hi,

I ordered a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B (2 GB) on 10/8. I suspect that the Ethernet port on my board is defective, as the LEDs for the Ethernet port (Link and Activity) will not light up, and the Pi cannot connect to the network via Ethernet.

Here’s a summary of the problem and the troubleshooting steps I’ve tried so far:

-Initial Functionality: When the Pi first arrived, I was able to connect via Ethernet after switching cables, but it only worked for about 12 hours before it stopped connecting entirely.
-Testing Cables and Router Ports: I’ve tried multiple Ethernet cables that I know work with other devices and multiple ports on my TP-Link AX1800 router. None of these have resolved the issue.
-Rebooting Devices: I’ve rebooted the Pi and the router multiple times.
-Network Interface Recognized: Running ip a shows that the Ethernet interface (eth0) is recognized, but no connection can be established.
-Reimaging the SD Card: I’ve reinstalled Raspberry Pi OS Lite on my original microSD card without any success.
-Testing a New SD Card: I purchased and tested a new microSD card, reinstalled Raspberry Pi OS Lite, and the problem persists.

The Ethernet port LEDs have not lit up at all since the issue began, leading me to believe there might be a hardware defect with the board or port itself.

If anyone has experienced a similar issue or has additional troubleshooting suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate the help. If it is a hardware problem, how should I proceed with repairs or a replacement?

Thanks in advance!
