I'm trying to use the Imager on Windows 10 onto an SD card.
Background: I have an old Pi 1B and before I get a newer one, I wanted to play around with the old one, bringing it up to date -- it has sat in the drawer for over five years. Its 32G SD card had an old PiOS (from 2017) partition and old Kodi partition. It booted either one. But I wanted to try Volumio. And my "real" computers are Windows 10.
So I downloaded the Pi Imager. But when I plug the SD card (via an adapter, of course) into my computer's USB, Windows pops up that drives I: and J: are not formatted, do I want to format them? I say no. Then it repeats itself. Over and over. Quite insistent!
I run the Imager, swatting the popups as I can. It begins writing. Then it stops, before 3% done, with an error writing. And this seems to happen just as Windows pops up the Do You Want To Format It? again. Although that happens so often it may be coincidental.
Any suggestions for getting Windows to let me run the imager? Thanks!
