I recall that in RPI4 (unless some special deployment is involved) the SD card provides boot and OS storage. Would a cross-over file syxtem access from nginx html tree be a wear issue and corrupt OS?

In that case a dedicated storage for html would be desirable and as RPI4 only offers USB 2/3 as alternatives (not going into NAS) what are the USB options for such reliable 24/7 use?
You somehow look for advice how to work around issues with a Pi4 with unknown power supply setup and old EEPROM content(s). Debian Buster can be OK, but this is not Debian Buster, it is an RPL recompiled setup that is ARMv6 compatible with a custom kernel. Fine if you have no problems, but you have. If you aren't willing to at least update the firmware, I am not interested anymore.
