I don't forget it, see my first sentence, have you tried that?

It is indeed very temping to only tell you to upgrade but it is clear to me that that is the wrong message.
The other option is that the topic would go locked in half a year with only your 1st message. But we will see, maybe there are still enough pcmanfm users on buster on a Pi who know what is wrong and post a message how to fix it.

You are correct and I apologize. Having had things like ". . . and why are you still using BUSTER?!!" rammed down my throat from all sides (actually a minimum of that here), I tend to get a bit testy.

That isn't correct and I apologize.

My observations were that pcmanfm (the "Pac-Man" file manager :wink:), wasn't touching the config file.

Since then, I discovered that my backup image for my Buster test environment was damaged, (and the running instance by association), so I nuked it, created a fresh SD image, configured it, and put it on my multi-boot drive. After I verified it worked, I made a fresh backup.

Your suggestion is a good one and I plan to pin it.
