I am also experiencing this, I guess the conclusion is that the device is defective?
It sort of worked for some months, but now it is only showing a solid red light. Pressing the power-button does nothing.
I had problems with the Pi from the start, with erratic behaviour on the Wifi, and other problems.
I bought three Pi5's at the same time, with official power supplies. So I know that the other Pi's do not have the same problem. They also have the official active coolers (bought those a month after the Pi's)
Also, I bought an NVMe Base (or rather three) - and they work on the two good Pi's but not on the faulty one.
When I got back from my summer holidays, the faulty Pi had turned itself off (red light) - I disconnected the power, and reconnected - and it booted. I tried the same one more time, but now that doesn't work anymore - it is constantly off, and the fan of the active cooler does not spin up when I connect the power (before, and on the others it always speeds up at max speed until the Pi's are booted).
I tried all tricks I've found, the problem persists if I disconnect all devices, also if I use a working SD-card - there is no other sign of life than the red light (which is not a good sign of life, really...) Also tried a power supply from a working Pi, and booting it off a computer USB port.
I guess there is nothing else to do than to try to replace it under warranty.
