I've been working with a raspberry pi zero w and regardless of what USB device I try, the pi will see it as a power source. For example, If I boot up the pi (powered by a 5v battery) and connect a keyboard, the pi will shut off. After some troubleshooting, I am 99% confident that this is due to the pi trying to power itself through the keyboard. Connecting a wall power source and/or using a serial cable to connect my pi to my computer will allow the pi to remain powered on, however my peripherals still do not register and my computer does not recognize the pi through the serial cable. Am I missing a driver of some kind? Note I am unable to access the pi's terminal because my ssh, serial cables, and/or keyboard cannot connect through the port in question. I am able to flash new OS's to an sd card and modify any files within them.
