Troubleshooting • Can't update: "raspberrypi-kernel-headers package is in a very bad inconsistent state"

Hi there,
I have a RPi4 which sits doing its thing all year around with little interaction from me.

Today I wanted to update nodeJS from v12 to the latest, but I kept getting an error I couldn't solve, though I am far from a Linux expert.
I tried updating the kernel and everything (even rpi-update), but I keep getting stuck with these last lines about 'raspberrypi-kernel-headers package is in a very bad inconsistent state'. I have restarted the RPi but it hasn't made any difference.

Does anyone have a suggestion what I can try next, please?

Thank you in advance,
Dax.

After running rpi-update:
