Hello all,
After setting up a wireless access point using this guide:

the Pi would either boot into a gray screen or display a "cannot currently show the desktop" message. This always happens after the step.
Here are some details:
RPi Model 4B
Fresh install of RPi Bookworm OS 64-bit 2024-03-15 (flashed onto SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSD using Raspberry Pi Imager)
Headless control using TigerVNC/RealVNC
