Given that between Stretch and Bookworm there have been two other major releases of Raspberry PiOS (and the releases of Debian from which it is derived) ie. Buster and Bullseye. However the main changes w.r.t. (true) headless resolution settings and VNC**** first occurred within Bullseye** with the move from FKMS to KMS when the setting IIRC effectively moved**** to raspi-config.How does the Raspberry Pi determine whether it should go into headless mode? And how has this changed from RPi 3B+ (Stretch) to RPi4 (Bookworm)?

** eg. see my notes here: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_p ... lseye.html
