Troubleshooting • Raspberry Pi not booting properly

Hi everyone! I have had my Raspberry Pi 4 B 8GB for 2 years running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS Desktop, and recently I had an issue while trying to set up I2C with a sensor. Every time I install raspi-config and turn on I2,C it throws the error:

Code:

error processing package raspberrypi-kernel
Raspi-config still seems to work, but when I restart the RPI, it won't boot and is stuck in the

screen.

I read on viewtopic.php?t=174456 that it might be an issue with my SD Card being corrupted. Since the SD card I used was old, I assumed that to be true.

I bought a new Samsung 128 GB High Endurance micro SD Card yesterday and installed I2C, and got it working. But today, while downloading RPi.GPIO, it threw the same raspberrypi-kernel error, and now it no longer boots.

I am very confused and have no clue what to do since I already bought a new Micro SD card.
