Troubleshooting • Re: RPI 5 performance issues

Your PS is not supplying 5v 5A, probably because it doesn't know about that particular power delivery option. However, that won't be the problem.
I was told that the PI does not recognize it and hence I can use the usb_max_current_enable=1 option in /boot/config.txt to override the PD; however, the same person advised that the power itself should not affect performances (I believe that is what you also are suggesting).
It might be the wireless keyboard, can you try a wired one?
I will try; however, given it slows down always on opening Chromium, I think it's not a keyboard issue (which, by the way, works well on other devices).
Make sure your OS is completely up to date
It's all up to date, it's the first thing I did after dd'ing the image on the SD card and starting up.
The SD card sounds odd, the test failing on write will be slowing the system down, I'd suggest trying a different one - what make is it?
It's a SanDisk Ultra 16GB HC1 Class 10

I will buy a new SD if that could be causing the issue; I also have a USB->SATA adapter, I could try USB booting and an external HDD/SSD before buying an SD if that has sufficient speed.

Thank you for the help.
