I have been facing the same problem, I have tried to boot the eeprom and a fresh version of the OS several times. I used to see the ACT light flash green once very quickly, but that didn't correspond to any boot error codes. Now the red power light just stays on without anything other than dimming a little when the power button is pressed. Booting without the SD card, or with an ethernet cable attached, has not resulted in anything different. No device appears when I plug the Pi into a Windows PC with a USB cable. I have been troubleshooting booting with a 5V 5A power supply.
