Thanks, that’s really helpful! I’ll make sure to focus on proper grounding since it sounds like that’s key. Since I’m only making a few boards, I’ll probably stick with mouse bites for now. I’m mounting the Pi right-side up, but your upside-down setup with a PCB-mounted fan sounds interesting—does it make a big difference in cooling? Might be worth trying if heat becomes an issue.
We had up to six Pi4s (this was before CM4) in a 19 inch rack unit with the power supply and other PCBs on the front panel so it was essential to cool the Pis. Their heat was blown directly onto the steel of the rack unit below so they ran at about 42 deg C.
