@timg236 By chance, last night outdoors with the RPi5 cold (~5°C) under clear skies, the first two attempted power ups resulted in 8 green flashes. Happily on the third power up the RPi booted up properly and I was able to use it fully for several hours.
So just to be clear - you would recommend that I give your firmware a try to see if it clears up the intermittent 8 green flashes?
