Did you ever resolve this? I had a similar issue using a regular HDMI monitor, was running fine and after messing around trying the 64-bit update it stopped working. Rolled back to the old release and got the splash screen and then blank. Can log into the device remotely but no joy on the HDMI port.
I uncommented the following line in config.txt (mine is in /boot):
#uncomment if hdmi display is not detected and composite is being output
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
Someone else was using an e-ink display with the same issue and uncommented this line:
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
