So I used the legacy since it was recommended by waveshare for the 3,5 LCD driver. But Waveshare didn't work, so I used the goodtft instead. (https://github.com/goodtft/LCD-show) So once setting this up, HDMI didn't work anymore and all I got was an underscore in top left corner.
I altered the config, inserting 'dtoverlay=pisceeen,drm' and ran 'system_restore.sh' et voilà there was this login screen, but I was confused why it doesn't auto login anymore, well couldn't even enter with the right password. SSH is fine, all the time.
1. Question would be, is there a chance it's not the driver but the desktop/login manager thingy? (Driver uses /boot/config instead of /boot/firmware/config) Even thought about adjusting the whole script.
Sooo not giving up just yet I first decided to try and get RetroPie running, but ofc the installation on top of the OS took aeons and didn't really work. The boot sequence starts and is shown on the LCD but then the same thing, login screen, but acces denied.
I tried another approach, trying to get the raspberrypi-ui-mods, which ended up in getting the console to the screen, could even use it. But 'startx' didn't work. (tty0 permission denied) - tbh didn't Google it yet.
Then I thought installing the Goodtft another time might help, and a bunch of sudos, updates and upgrades later nothings changed. So installing the Pixel Desktop was a good Idea, so I thought. Since it might fix the manager, it's maybe a little older than the Legacy Version. I dunno, thought it might help ^^
So in short after 20h of hard work I'm looking at a real strange display and dunno what to do. Except breaking it further or reset.
