Dagdag
I posted a message on the link you suggested and i got a response.
they suggested i try the following:-
In chromium, try the "Camera" option on https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html and see if that works
If not, delete ~/.local/share/flatpak/db/devices then reboot and see if that helps
If not, go to chrome://flags in chromium, search for pipewire, change "Pipewire Camera Support" to "Disabled", then restart chromium and try again.
The second option worked for me. I simply deleted the device file from the directory indicated. My webcam now works in Chromium.
