Thanks. I have not asked Adafruit yet. I guess that is next on the TODO list.

There do not seem to be I²C devices attached:

Just to be sure, both SPI and I2C are activated.
well ... Are you sure you have a display with cap touch? On this bus there is no device --> touch initialisation will have to fail.

Sorry, will leave it with you to check which I2C interface the touchcontroller - if any - is wired to.
