I am looking for any assistance on getting this raspberry pi5 to work again. It boots for one second, then instantly shuts down.
Details:
I purchased a raspberry pi 5 in February and I have been using it for robotics projects. The pi was working perfectly fine at this point.
I then took a ~3 month break from my projects and left the pi5 inside of a plastic bag in at normal room temperature in a non-moist environment (I do not believe this to be the cause of failure) and the pi no longer boots even with the same SD card that it was booting from 3 months ago.
In particular, the pi turns on with a solid green light for ~1 second, the fan spins, then the pi turns to a solid red light and the fan stops.
Things I have tried to fix this problem:
- I have checked the SD card to make sure it's not faulty, and sure enough, I can look at it and it's home directory and everything on it, it looks perfectly fine.
- I have tried using different images that I know work.
- I have removed every single interface besides the cooling HAT, and even for that I have tried unplugging it to no avail.
- I am using the official power supply (5.1V 5A). And I have tried other power supplies (5V 3A) with the same results.
- I have tried reflashing the EEPROM using the Raspberry pi imager and it blinks orange for a second, then goes to a solid red light. The fan never spins up and I never see anything on the connected screen nor does it blink green consistently.
At this point, I do not know what else I can do as I am limited in the amount of information that I have as the screen does not work, and the pi instantly shuts down regardless of the image.
I hope that you can help me in this struggle.
