Interesting!Just an add from my experience. Had exactly the same issue - driving me crazy
The issue was the number of keys set to the keyboard in the "Preferences" UI for Keyboard and Mouse. It was set to 105 when its actually 104
How did you solve it?
Is there a way to manually change the settings in the Preferences UI (for keyboard and Mouse)? For example from 105 to 104, if that is the issue?
In my case there was also the issues with the changes of languages that was done by the OS without my intention (from Swedish to English, which was solved when by using (my Swedish) keyboard (with Swedish settings) as if it was English, as described above).
Short after that I did change the keyboard to a better one (also Swedish). It turned out to have the same keyboard settings, i.e. 105, not 104, in the Preferences UI for keyboard and mouse. But since I've kept a key-neutral password for Swedish and English keyboards, it's nothing that I've had any problems with so far.
On occasion, however, I will test and see what happens if you use passwords that differ from both keyboards/language settings.
