Unfortunately things are never that simple.....
While audacious, firefox do work via pcmanfm,, ristretto and most others don't work
There must be a difference in the way that the different programs are using the X code.
shame to spoil a good thing!
I really liked being able to sit in comfort with my pi's in the other room.

p.s. X itself isn't perfect, but I would like to think wayland could be massively useful across a network.
