take into account the fact that RPI does not have any wifi antenna

It does have an antenna on the PCB, but not an external one.
I am not using any repeaters, WiFi to next room from pi5 is fine.
Anyway, can you try a spare microSD card and install Bookworm 64-bit Bookworm and check WiFi?
