For the future:
If those drives don't have their own power supplies I also strongly recommend putting a self powered USB hub between Pi and drives.
Lastly, if you really, really, must use NTFS (and about the only reason for doing so is if you will need to physically connect them to a windows box) it is possible but only if you don't care about security and modify the mount options for the drives and your smb.conf appropriately.

- You've also not told us more vital information:
- Which "level" of windows your clients are running? Home, Pro, Enterprise, etc.?
- Did you create matching Samba and Linux users for your clients?
- Are you trying to use guest access from the windows clients?
