I cannot think of a way to provide commands to ANY computer that you have no way of connecting an input device to, be that directly or via a network. If the machine has stopped responding; there's not much you can do about it.Then, would there be a way to check to make sure that it is absolutely beyond saving? I cannot risk corrupting the file system at all, so I really want to be absolutely sure before I cut the power.
There is always a risk of a file system getting corrupted; that's just a fact of life. It can happen. That's why we have business continuity plans and backups. Presumably as your system is apparently so mission critical; you have such things in place?
