Troubleshooting • RaspAP install not working and need help.

Question

Hello all! I have a question. I have recently tried installing RaspAP on two raspberry pis. The first one (a previous pi that I owned) went great and worked exactly as it should. The second one (a new one I just bought), however, I have been struggling to get working and unsure why. Below are my steps but simply put after the quick install my raspberry pi OS won't start up normally again (it starts up in a control terminal mode), it says "failed to start lightdm.service", and I am not seeing any wifi.

My steps:
1) Got a new microSD card (a SanDisk Ultra PLUS 32 GB)
2) Got a new Raspberry Pi 3B+
3) Installed new OS on it using Raspberry Pi Imager (Installed the Raspberry Pi OS 64 bit)
4) Went through the process shown here https://raspap.com/#quick (along with a few other slight variations I have found online but none have worked)
On this step I press "Y" to the first two questions all the recommended and "n" to all the add-ons.
5) When I go to restart the raspberry pi with "sudo reboot now" the raspberry pi starts in a command terminal only screen. There is no OS to be seen and as it is starting up it says "failed to start lightdm.service. I also sometimes will briefly see the wifi from RaspAP on another device but it won't let me connect and will leave soon after popping up.
I have tried installing lightdm again but that does not seem to solve my issue, and it won't let me try to reinstall RaspAP.

Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or how I can fix it? I am even more perplexed because doing the same thing on my first raspberry pi was no issue and very smooth.
