I'm new to raspberry pi, but from what I've read online, the performance I'm getting is abnormal. I can't playback video in vlc (1080p h.264) without it looking like stop motion animation. I can barely browse a webpage in chromium (takes about 30s to load the app, and then theres massive lag on any kind of browsing with a single tab open).
I'm not expecting desktop pc performance, but this is basically unusable.
What I'm trying to figure out, is what is wrong?
What I've tried:
- I was getting low voltage warnings, so I bought a new official PSU. Now there are no warnings, but performance is not improved.
- During an update, the SD Card seemed to get corrupted and I couldn't flash a new image (kept failing verification), so I have a new SD card now (class 10 A1). No performance improvement.
- I even confirmed that it is actually a 3b+ by looking on the board itself.
Any ideas what's going on?
Surely something is not right here.
